Kitchen Wine Racks

Most of us want to be able to keep about 4 to 12 bottles of wine on hand for dinners and entertaining, and that usually means keeping them in the kitchen. Here are some of the nicer kitchen wine racks I've come across lately.



Uncommon Goods

This is a great store for cool decorating items that you'll actually use, and the staff is clearly interested in wine. Uncommon Goods has eight different wine racks available right now, and most of them would be great a kitchen. My favorite is the stainless steel wall mounted "go with the flow" wine rack for $50. It holds 8 bottles, which is pretty close to the perfect number for a kitchen rack.

Many of the wine racks listed as "kitchen wine racks" on Amazon hold like 36 bottles, which is too big for my kitchen, but maybe you can fit them in across the room from your refrigerated walk in pantry. However, there is a great choice in the Lipper International Bamboo Stackable Wine Rack for $26. It holds 5 bottles and is only 4 and 3/4 inches wide, so there's a great chance you can squeeze it into some tight space where nothing else will fit. It would also work on top of a refrigerator.

If your kitchen is more modern (though the Lipper would certainly work in a modern kitchen), check out the cool Umbra Grapevine Acrylic Wine Rack, Black for $25. It comes in red and black and holds six bottles, and its small enough to work on a countertop.

I like the Pilare 12 bottle wine rack here best. At $64, its not cheap, but the design is very clean and at 15 inches tall, 11 inches wide and 8 and 4/5 inches deep, this is a size that would work well on a countertop. For a hanging wine rack, there's a lovely "Undercabinet 6 bottle wine rack and stemware holder that will make terrific use of the six inches of unused space just below your kitchen cabinets.

If you want something really cool looking and you have some wall space, check out the Oenophila Mid Century Wine Rack for $100. It holds ten bottles, but if your into metal and squares and the modern art look, this is a really hip wine rack that doubles as wall art.

Target

There are a few choices here. The Townhouse 6 bottle wine rack is only $16 and fits nicely on a countertop. I like that the feet of it spread out a bit, so it is steadier than some of the other wine racks I've been seeing. Beauty is great, but having a wine rack get knocked over is not pretty.

Target also has the undercabnet 6 wine bottle rack that organize.com has. At $25 its a pretty good deal. For something visually interesting, I like the Room Essentials Ebony Wi Ring Wine Rack for $15. The holes for the bottles are different sizes, so you could slip in a bottle of olive oil and some balsamic oil along with the wine. It holds seven bottles, total, which is unusual. That Room Essentials rack is available in most Target stores, too, so you can go get it this afternoon if you want. If you need more storage, go for the Scroll 12 Bottle Win Rack for $25. Its got very good ratings, but is available online only.
